Kuala Lumpur is one of the most underrated cities in Southeast Asia for remote work. Fast internet, cheap food, world-class infrastructure — and coworking spaces that cost a fraction of what you’d pay in Singapore or Bangkok.

I’ve been working from coworking spaces across KL, and I’ve tried almost every major one in the city. Some were worth every ringgit. Others… not so much.

In this guide, I’m sharing my honest take on the best coworking spaces in KL — with real prices, actual WiFi performance, and practical tips you won’t find on the coworking brands’ own websites. Whether you’re a digital nomad passing through or an expat settling in, this should help you find the right workspace without wasting your time (or money).

🏆 Best Premium

1. Colony — Best Premium Coworking Space in KL

Hot Desk
RM430/mo
100hr Pass
RM370
Private Office
from RM2,390

If you want to feel like you’re working from a boutique hotel instead of an office, Colony is it. The KLCC flagship at Vipod Residences sits between KLCC and Pavilion, spanning 19,000 sq ft across two storeys with high ceilings and interiors inspired by New York’s Tribeca neighbourhood. It’s the kind of place where your Zoom background doesn’t need a filter.

Locations: Colony @ KLCC (Vipod Residences), Colony @ Eco City (1-min walk to Abdullah Hukum LRT), Colony @ The MET (Mont Kiara).

Colony goes beyond the desk — nap rooms, a massage room with a certified masseuse, rooftop gym and swimming pool at selected locations, and a butler-style concierge service. Every staff member apparently has a RM100 daily budget per member to spend on anything that makes your day better.

💡
Pro tip: If you only need a few days per month, the prepaid 100-hour pass at RM370 is smarter than daily passes. Meeting a client? Bring them to Colony KLCC — the Petronas Twin Towers view alone is worth the day pass.

What to know: Hot desk access is weekdays only, 9am–5:30pm. No 24/7 access unless you’re on a private office plan. The day pass at RM68 is the most expensive on this list, but the experience matches the price.

Best for: Freelancers who want a premium environment, people who take client meetings in person, and content creators who want aesthetic workspaces.

🖥️ Best for Daily Work

2. WORQ — Best for Serious Remote Workers

If Colony is the boutique hotel, WORQ is the reliable business-class lounge — professional, efficient, and always where you need it. With 9 locations across KL, all directly connected to LRT or MRT stations, WORQ has arguably the best accessibility of any coworking brand in the city.

WORQ’s entire strategy is built around Transit-Oriented Development (TOD), meaning every single location is designed to be reachable by public transport without walking in the Malaysian heat. For a digital nomad without a car, this is a massive deal.

Locations (9): Bangsar · Intermark · KL Eco City · KL Gateway · 1 Sentrum @ KL Sentral · Menara Shell @ KL Sentral · Sunway Putra · Sunway Velocity · TTDI

WORQ gives you 24/7 secure access on dedicated desk and private office plans — essential if you’re working across time zones. The internet is enterprise-grade and consistently fast. They’re LEED-certified and GBI-certified. The pantry comes with free-flow freshly ground coffee, premium tea, hot chocolate, and snacks. Members also get perks like 10% off ZUS Coffee and restaurant discounts near each location.

💡
Pro tip: If you’re new to KL and trying coworking for the first time, start with a WORQ day pass. The consistent quality across all locations means you can’t go wrong.

Best for: Full-time remote workers who need a reliable daily workspace, nomads working across time zones (24/7 access), and anyone who relies on public transport.

🤝 Best for Networking

3. Common Ground — Best for Networking & Community

from RM399/mo
Locations
14 in Malaysia

Symmetrical fibre

Common Ground is Malaysia’s largest coworking community — 14 locations, one membership for all of them. The KLCC location is particularly impressive — sitting right next to the Petronas Twin Towers, members get access to Grand Hyatt’s fitness centre, wellness facilities, and swimming pool.

The networking events are genuinely useful — workshops with business experts, social events, and industry-specific meetups. Their proprietary app lets you connect with members across all locations. The internet is symmetrical fibre broadband, meaning upload speeds match download speeds — excellent for video calls, live streaming, and file uploads.

At RM399/month for a hot desk, Common Ground is actually more affordable than Colony (RM430) and Komune (RM540).

Key KL locations: KLCC (Grand Hyatt) · KL Sentral (Q Sentral) · KL Eco City · Damansara Heights · Mont Kiara · Bangsar South · and more.

💡
Pro tip: If you’re an expat, try the Mont Kiara location first — large international community, surrounded by international schools and luxury residences. Great for connections outside the typical KL tech bubble.

Best for: Digital nomads who want to meet people and build a local network, professionals who value flexibility across multiple locations.

💰 Best Budget

4. Jerry — Best Budget Coworking Space

Day Pass
RM33

RM50 discount
Locations
8 in KL

Here’s something most articles won’t tell you: Jerry is Colony’s sister brand. Same parent company, completely different positioning. While Colony goes for luxury, Jerry strips everything down to the basics — private rooms at budget prices. No fancy lounges, no rooftop pools. Just a clean, quiet, private workspace where you can actually focus.

The private rooms are Jerry’s biggest selling point. Unlike open hot desks, Jerry gives you an enclosed space with a door. For introverts, people who take a lot of calls, or anyone who needs quiet — this is a game-changer at this price point. Monthly private office members get 24/7 access.

What to know: No walk-ins — everything is online booking only. Spaces are minimal; don’t expect artisan coffee. No on-site staff in most locations (automated), which keeps costs down.

💡
Pro tip: Try the day pass (RM33) first. The RM50 new user discount makes your first booking basically a steal.

Best for: Budget-conscious nomads, introverts, people who take a lot of video calls.

🚀 Best for Startups

5. Co-Labs — Best for Startups & Small Teams

from RM39
Flexi Desk
from RM599/mo
Locations
5 (incl. Naza Tower)

Co-Labs feels like it was built specifically for startup founders. Phone booths for calls, a Snack Lab corner, Nap Pods for post-lunch energy dips, and meeting rooms designed for brainstorming sessions and client presentations.

At RM599/month for a flexi desk, Co-Labs is pricier than WORQ or Common Ground for individual nomads. The value is stronger if you’re working with a small team (2–5 people) and need extra facilities.

Best for: Startup founders, small teams, and entrepreneurs who host frequent meetings or events.

🧘 Best Minimalist

6. Komune — Best Minimalist & Zen Workspace

RM540/mo
Locations
3 in KL

If cluttered, noisy coworking spaces give you anxiety, Komune might be your answer. Clean lines, neutral colours, low noise levels — designed for focus. The Vertical location has an in-house cafe and even a game arcade.

At RM540/month, Komune is actually more expensive than Colony (RM430) and Common Ground (RM399). The premium is justified if you specifically value a distraction-free environment, but budget-conscious nomads should look at WORQ or Sandbox.

Best for: Deep work, writing, design, and creative projects. Professionals who thrive in quiet, minimal environments.

🏷️ Cheapest in KL

7. Sandbox — Cheapest Coworking Space in KL

sandbox.com.my →
Membership
RM38/mo
Day Pass
RM14
Full Month
RM318
24/7 Access
All members

RM318 per month for a coworking space. That’s cheaper than most cafe habits. Sandbox uses a membership model: RM38/month membership + RM14 per day pass. Full month at 20 working days = RM318. The RM14 day pass is the cheapest I’ve found anywhere in KL.

Members get 24/7 access, free coffee, and a bright, community-driven space. For digital nomads on a tight budget — especially those just starting out or testing KL — the maths here is incredibly compelling.

The catch: Only one location, in Sri Petaling — not central KL. If you’re staying in KLCC, Bukit Bintang, or Bangsar, the commute adds 30–45 minutes each way. For those living in southern KL or Cheras, it’s much more convenient.

💡
Quick math: Sandbox RM318/mo vs Colony RM430 vs WORQ ~RM400 vs Common Ground RM399. That’s RM80–110 saved every month — over RM1,000 a year.

Best for: Budget-conscious nomads, students, early-stage freelancers, and anyone in southern KL.

🌐 Best Global Brand

8. WeWork — Best Global Brand

KL Locations
KL Sentral area

If you bounce between KL, Bangkok, Bali, and Tokyo, one WeWork membership covers you everywhere. The KL spaces maintain the expected standard — reliable WiFi, professional meeting rooms, regular events, and well-designed common areas.

WeWork is the most expensive option and has fewer KL locations than local brands. For long-term KL stays, you’ll get better value from WORQ or Common Ground. The vibe is more corporate-international than the local charm of Colony or Sandbox.

Best for: Remote workers on corporate expense accounts, nomads who travel across multiple countries frequently.

9. How to Choose the Right Coworking Space

If budget is your priority: Sandbox (RM318/month) or Jerry (RM33/day). Sandbox wins on total monthly cost, Jerry wins on privacy.

If you need reliable daily workspace: WORQ. Nine locations, all on MRT/LRT lines, 24/7 access, enterprise-grade WiFi.

If you want to impress clients: Colony. The aesthetics, the service, and the addresses all scream premium.

If networking matters: Common Ground. Largest community, most events, 14 locations, RM399/month.

If you’re here short-term: Try day passes. Jerry (RM33), WORQ (~RM40), and Colony (RM68) across three days. You’ll know your preference quickly.

⚠️
Transit matters more than you think. KL traffic is notoriously bad. A space 5km away can take 45 minutes by car during rush hour. WORQ’s direct MRT/LRT access at all locations is a genuine competitive advantage.

Don’t forget food costs. A space in KL Eco City or Mid Valley puts you next to hundreds of options. A standalone building might mean GrabFood every day. For a full breakdown of daily expenses, check my Cost of Living in KL guide.

10. Tips for Digital Nomads Using Coworking Spaces in KL

Try before you commit. Almost every space offers day passes. A one-day trial tells you more about WiFi, noise, and chair comfort than any website.

Test the WiFi yourself. Visit fast.com on your first day. Marketed speeds and actual speeds often differ, especially during peak hours (10am–12pm).

Ask about hidden costs. Some spaces charge extra for printing, meeting rooms, parking, and lockers. A “cheap” hot desk can get expensive. Ask upfront.

Prayer room availability. For Muslim travellers — WORQ has prayer facilities at most locations. For others, check if the building has a surau (most KL malls and office towers do).

Backup internet is essential. Even the best WiFi has off days. I always carry my phone with a local eSIM as a hotspot backup. See my Best eSIM Malaysia review for options.

Payment methods. Most spaces accept credit cards. If paying with a foreign card, use Wise to avoid conversion fees. Some spaces also accept Touch ‘n Go and GrabPay.

11. Frequently Asked Questions

What is the cheapest coworking space in KL?

Sandbox offers the lowest total cost at RM318/month (RM38 membership + RM14/day × 20 days). For day passes without commitment, Jerry at RM33/day is the most affordable.

Are there 24/7 coworking spaces in Kuala Lumpur?

Yes. WORQ offers 24/7 access for dedicated desk and private office members. Sandbox provides 24/7 access to all monthly members. Jerry gives 24/7 access on monthly private office plans. Colony’s 24/7 access is limited to private office plans.

Do I need a Malaysian bank account to pay?

No. Most coworking spaces accept international credit cards. You can also use Wise to convert at better rates. Some spaces accept Touch ‘n Go eWallet and GrabPay.

Which coworking space has the best WiFi?

WORQ and Common Ground consistently deliver the fastest speeds. Common Ground uses symmetrical fibre broadband (equal upload and download), which is excellent for video conferencing and file uploads.

Do coworking spaces in KL have prayer rooms?

Some do — WORQ includes prayer facilities at most locations. Others are typically in buildings that have a surau within walking distance. Confirm with the specific location before your first visit.

Can I just use cafes instead of coworking spaces?

You can, and many nomads do. But after a few weeks, inconsistent WiFi, uncomfortable chairs, and guilt of nursing one RM15 latte for four hours usually pushes people towards coworking. The cheapest option (Sandbox at ~RM16/day) isn’t much more than a cafe visit.

KL’s coworking scene is genuinely impressive for its price-to-quality ratio. You can work from a luxury space with Twin Tower views for RM430/month, or a clean private room for RM33/day. Try doing that in Singapore, Hong Kong, or even Bangkok.

The most important thing is to actually try a few spaces before committing to monthly plans. Every nomad has different priorities — some want quiet, some want community, some want the cheapest desk possible. KL has something for all of you.

Prices last verified: March 2026. Coworking prices can change — always confirm with the provider directly.
